Berkana

Opened in 1993 by Mili Hernández, Berkana was the first bookshop in Spain and Latin America devoted to LGBTIQ+ culture. Its shelves hold fiction, essays, poetry, comics, children's books, films and music alongside pride-themed gifts, t-shirts and accessories. Beyond retail, Berkana hosts book presentations, signings and a reading club, making it a cultural meeting point for Madrid's queer community as much as a shop. A historic and still-thriving reference for LGBTQ+ literature in the city.
