Carrera de Tacones (High Heel Race)
Iconic MADO high-heel race down Calle Pelayo, Madrid Pride.
The Carrera de Tacones (High Heel Race) is one of Madrid Pride's most iconic events: a comic obstacle sprint in which contestants run down Calle Pelayo in Chueca wearing platform heels up to 15cm high, stopping mid-course to put on a dress and grab a bag before crossing the finish line. Presented by drag performer Chumina Power and organized by LL Bar with support from Correos Express, the race has run for more than 25 editions, packing the street with cheering spectators. Held during MADO each July, it has become a beloved symbol of the festival's playful, transgressive spirit.
