Widely considered Madrid's best-known gay accommodation, Hostal La Zona has operated for years on Calle Valverde, a few steps from Chueca's bars and clubs and close to Gran Via. Run by owners Vicent and Arnaldo, it offers around a dozen simple, air-conditioned exterior rooms with private bathrooms and balconies, plus a buffet breakfast included in the rate. It markets itself explicitly as a guesthouse for gay men and welcoming to anyone comfortable in that environment, and its personal, family-run feel has earned it loyal repeat guests and consistently strong reviews from LGBTQ+ travellers over many years.
